TL;DR
Kodus doesn't collect personal information. We don't track you, we don't sell data, and we don't require an account. The extension only checks which store you're on so it can show you the right discount codes.

1. What we collect

Kodus is designed to be privacy-first. The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically, we do not collect:

2. What the extension does

When you visit a supported online store, the Kodus Chrome extension reads the current page's domain only (e.g. nike.com) and sends it to our API to look up matching creator discount codes. That's it.

The domain lookup is stateless — we don't log who asked, we don't link requests together, and we don't build a profile of your shopping habits.

3. Where our codes come from

Discount codes shown in Kodus are scraped from publicly available YouTube videos and descriptions using the YouTube Data API. We don't access any private content, and creators are not contacted or tracked.

4. Cookies and local storage

The extension uses Chrome's local storage to remember your preferences (e.g. a custom API endpoint, if you ever set one). This data stays on your device and is never sent to us.

The kodus.live website does not use cookies or third-party analytics.

5. Third-party services

Our backend uses Supabase for database storage and the YouTube Data API for sourcing codes. Neither service receives any user-identifying information from us, because we don't have any to send.

6. Children's privacy

Kodus is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the extension works in a way that affects this policy, we'll update the date at the top and post a notice on this page. Material changes affecting how data is handled will be highlighted in the extension itself.
